Today is my 18th birthday. I can now be drafted.
Wicked.
Couldn't eat at Sam's Joint because it was packed, so we (my parents and I) settle for KFC. It was a lot better than I thought it'd be.
6-4 at the Quiz Bowl thing this Saturday, one win away from State qualifier, but we have about eight more chances, so we'll get there. On the way to Holland, one of the player's mother hit a deer at 55MPH. It spun five times. Intestines oozed from its body and bloody was everywhere. I spotted the corpse. I could never hunt, something about what I saw is odd..
I'll probably be blowing out a candle within an hour. Here's to wishing for a happy life for friends and family. Also for getting into one of my "higher" colleges. |

On Friday I ate a fortune cookie and the fortune read (close to exact): "You will have a new love affair."
It's now in my wallet.
Anyways, school is boring and not challenging and why did I get screwed out of so many APs. I applied to the University of Chicago on, what, October 28th or something? Sooner? Whatever, the point is I applied. I'll apply to the rest of my colleges this month once I get my fee waivers. I'll know if I've gotten into U of C and Kalamazoo by Christmas. I'm sort of nervous but I'm pretty confident I can get into Kalamazoo and they give lots of money usually, so that'll be fun!
I got First Team All-Conference in football as well as Lineman of the Year (for the school). That's cool I guess. I also got to run the ball on the last play of the last game, I got about two yards so I was pretty happy. I was a pretty damn good football player; I'll miss the games and the team, but no more practices is like an orgasm of some kind.
I've become such a social person since Freshman year, it's crazy. I used to be notorious for not talking to people, now if I'm quiet people think something is wrong with me. I'm going to make sure my college social life is A+ because talking to people and hanging out really makes me happy.
Future job ideas still "scare" me. That isn't the right word.. dammit. I need to find the balance between enjoyable and practical. I really like the IDEAS of Ancient Histories, Astronomy, Politics, etc. but I've never gotten to try them out first hand, so I'm pretty much blind. I'm pretty sure my school hasn't prepared me very well at all.
I want to read books and I don't know why I don't. I think I have a list of books I wanted to read, but that changes all the time.
I'm a generally happier person now, just because of a change in mentality. It's a great feeling. |

school starts tuesday. we're 0-2 in football, though we could've been 2-0 easily. im doing great, though, so i guess thats okay.
i think i need more colleges to apply to, and due to this, i have been looking at some more; this is what i have:
University of Chicago (do all colleges require you to pass a competency in foreign languages?) Washington U - St Louis Kalamazoo Bowdoin (maybe) Stanford (if I can get creative enough to write all the stuff; this is a crapshoot but i can say i tried)
and thats it. i was thinking about throwing an Ivy or two in there but i dont know.
